Hoy os enviamos una convocatoria para el casting de The Fantasticks, el musical de Harvey Schmidt y Tom Jones. La producción será en inglés.

Actors and Singers Needed!

Ariel Lichtenstein and Schuyler Hedstrom are directing The Fantasticks and the casting will be Tuesday, December 21st at 21:00 at LA MADRILERA.

We are looking to cast the following roles:

• El Gallo--The Narrator
• Matt--young male
• Hucklebee--boy's father
• Bellomy--girl's father
• Henry--an actor (not a large singing role)
• Mortimer--an actor (not a large singing role)

Most of the parts are for men, but we are open to the idea of casting the right woman in the parts of men if we need to.  If you would like to audition please prepare a song to sing with playback.  Bring a cd or mp3 player with the music for your song so that we can hear how you sing with music in the background.  Or you can learn this song from The Fantasticks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpKXC8NnP_E and we will provide the playback.

The musical will be entirely in English and most of the roles require singing.  The time commitment will be 5-7 rehearsals per month in January and February and then twice a week in March and then the performances will be the 1st two weekends in April 2011 (April 1st, 2nd and April 8th and 9th).  Normally we will rehearse one weeknight during the week and one weekend day during the afternoon, but not every character will have to come to every rehearsal for the first 2 months.  If you have weekend trips planned or work commitments we can work around your schedule, but you must be here for the 1st two weekends in April.  Probably at the end of March we may have a couple of extra rehearsals depending on the progress we will have made until then.
